I am left handed and for my hole life I have struggeled with art, however no more or less then anyone else I suppose. But tonight I thought to try sketching some anatomy studies with my right hand. I have tryed lifedrawing with my righthand befor many times. This was different though, I actually felt the otherside of my brain taking control and looking at the book Im studing from differently. I really enjoyed the experience, it was refreshing and chalanging and made me look at the subject a different way while focusing on my lines alot more, the sketches barely made sense but thats ok. This is a personal chalange, I want to be able to draw with both hands, but more importantly not let one side of my brain controll my art. My short term goals for this is to draw with my right hand for an hour a day till I get my eye hand coordination down. I think these sketches have made me realize how badly one side of my brain had tunnelvision in reguards to how I draw and look at art. It will be a long and painfull road but I think my art will be a lot better for it.


This it the first journal post for me and the only reason Im posting it is because I am trying to get myself to commit to something.
